Stainless steel precision casting defect repairing method



As the foundry industry often tries to solve the defects of casting. A lot of repair methods have been taken.

First, caster glue: simple, extensive castings, general repairs do not require subsequent processing, and there is no special strength and hardness requirements. The added value of this type of casting is relatively low.

Second, welding repair: more than 90% of the foundry manufacturers have chosen welding repair to solve the casting defects encountered in production. Due to the use of metal fillers, the weld repair performance can basically reach the standard of the base metal, and the operation is simple, the welding repair efficiency is high, and it is recognized and trusted by many manufacturers. At present, there are many types of welding machines on the market, which are applied to defect repair, and generally have the following types:

Electric welding machine: the traditional method of welding and casting of cast iron and steel castings.

Advantages: Repair large defects and high efficiency.
Disadvantages: The hardness of the solder joints after soldering is too high, there are stresses inside, and cracks are easy to occur. Generally, annealing heat treatment is required to meet the processing requirements. Due to the limitation of welding conditions, secondary defects such as pores and slag inclusions are likely to occur inside.

Argon arc welding: precision castings, aluminum alloy die-casting parts are often repaired by argon arc welding machine. Some mold manufacturing and repair manufacturers also use this welder to repair mold defects.

1. Advantages: The welding efficiency is high and the precision is higher than that of the welding machine. There are many types of welding wire, and the most widely used stainless steel and aluminum alloy products. Can be used for welding, high strength teaching.
2. Disadvantages: For defect repair, when the small defect is repaired, the edge of the molten pool has traces due to the impact. Welded steel parts have hard spots. Due to thermal influences, when hot-filled colored castings or thin-walled parts are welded, thermal deformation is likely to occur. The technical requirements are high.

Third, cold welding machine: It is a new repair technology born in the early 21st century. Because the workpiece generates little heat during the welding repair process, it becomes a cold welder. After several years of development, the application direction and technology of the welding machine have been greatly developed, and it has already occupied a large share in the repair market. According to the repair product classification: SMT machine and EDM welding repair machine.

Mounter: The principle of instantaneous high-frequency discharge is used to paste the soldering piece to the surface of the workpiece. The thickness of each bonding is the same as the thickness of the soldering piece. The quality of the soldering depends on whether the discharge is uniform. It is suitable for workpiece wear and processing, and it has a certain influence in the mold market. The machine can also fill the solder powder to the defect and repair it after discharge. The color difference of the repaired workpiece is small. The downside is that the patching is slower. The common disadvantage of cold welders is that the weld repair efficiency is not as high as that of electric welders and argon arc welders, but its outstanding advantages in repairing millimeter-level defects and machined surface defects make people prefer cold welding.
